Description
We walked through Dolerw Park in Newtown, one still, snowy day. Because the park borders the River Severn, a low mist can often lie across the park on cold mornings. The mist lay like sheets of gossamer across the snowy grass and the beauty made me catch my breath.
Painting the scene was far from easy, white mist over white snow, with the looming shapes of trees visible was a real challenge. Acrylic paint enabled me to build up the scene in many thin layers to create a finished effect that I am pleased with.
The painting is acrylic on canvas. The canvas is 30cm square and is framed in a 4.5 centimetre flat, silver coloured frame, which is 3.5cm deep.
