Description
On a glorious May day, I decided to take my painting stuff down to the river to paint “en plein air”. It was a beautiful day with people wandering across the rocks from time to time, to peer into the water. At that precise moment, I just didn’t want to be anywhere else. It was a time to relax and breathe.
The original picture is smaller then I usually tackle, because I had to make it portable. It is painted in oil paint on a canvas faced artist board and measures 30cm by 25cm. It is framed in a style similar to Summer foxgloves, with an obeche wood tray frame.
The painting was finished in the studio as the sun moved around and my shady spot became too hot to continue outside.
