Description
I first painted this picture during worship, in response to a song called “Above all powers” by Michael W. Smith, that refers to Jesus as “like a rose trampled on the ground, You took the fall and thought of me above all.” The first painting dripped by accident as I had made the paint too thin. The effect was so powerful that I repeated it this version, painted in the studio.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53 : 5
The painting is framed in a white tray frame which shows the painted sides of the canvas, surrounded by a wide distressed effect black and dark brown frame. The size of the painting is 51cm by 76cm. The framed size is 67.5 x 92.5cm.
