Description
This acrylic painting was inspired by a trip to the Canadian Rockies in 2011.
It was there that I was struck by the paintings of a local Canadian artist. She used red under-painting to contrast with the wonderful turquoise waters of the lakes and streams. I used the idea successfully in this small acrylic painting, which I painted using photos I took at the lake. The scene is just above Banff in Alberta.
The canvas is 25cm square and the framed size is 37cm square.
The frame is a medium wood with carved detail and a gold inner lip next to the painting.
